Summary/Objective:
As a Sr. Specialist in Employee Experience at the Academy, you will play a key role in shaping and elevating the overall employee journey in our organization. You will coordinate the development and implementation of initiatives that promote employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention. Your responsibilities will include coordinating the onboarding process, supporting training efforts, and contributing to various employee programs. You will collaborate with People and Culture and management to gather feedback, analyze employee data, and contribute to a positive workplace culture.  Your efforts will help ensure that all employees feel valued, supported, and connected to the company’s mission and values. This position reports to the Vice President, People & Culture.

This is a hybrid role, requiring the Sr. Specialist to work onsite at least 2 days per week. Additionally, the Sr. Specialist must be flexible to work at our other office locations as needed.

Essential Functions of the Job:
  • Lead the development and implementation of employee experience programs.
  • Plan and organize events and activities that promote community well-being through informational sessions, activities, and events.
  • Assist in creating initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and retention.
  • Manage the employee perks program to meet the needs and preferences of our employees while aligning the with company’s mission and values.
  • Manage the planning and coordination of employee wellbeing programs and initiatives.
  • Support the management of internal communication channels for employee engagement, including drafting, editing, and distributing clear, accurate, and timely internal staff communications.
  • Oversee early-stage employee experience touchpoints to ensure a smooth transition into the company.
  • Provide employee well-being resources and training opportunities.
  • Track key performance indicators related to employee experience using data to inform strategies.
  • Support the People & Culture team by coordinating HR projects, maintaining project timelines, and keeping team members and partners informed throughout each phase.
  • Promote a diverse and inclusive workplace culture through various employee initiatives and programs.
  • Other projects as assigned.
Required Competencies:  
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field is required; an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. Examples of related fields include Psychology, Business Administration, and Organizational Management.
  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience managing projects and planning events.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in employee engagement or foundational HR functions.
  • Experience in administering employee surveys, analyzing results, and developing actionable plans. Understanding of employee feedback, mechanisms, and survey tools.
  • Ability to design and implement employee experience initiatives.  An analytical mindset with the capacity to interpret data and metrics related to employee satisfaction.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Candidates will be asked to complete an MS Office skills assessment.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities. Capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with competing deadlines and time demands.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills while exercising sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, effective internal staff communications.  Candidates will be asked to complete a written communications skills assessment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using HRIS platforms and creative design software (e.g., ADP Workforce, Adobe Creative Suite, or Canva) is a plus.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to move and transport up to 20 lbs. as needed.
